Green Bean's Birthday Top 5
Green Bean Studios is proud of its sustainability foundations and journey so far, this year being the first year we have started taking official steps towards becoming a B Corp Certified business to become leaders in the global movement for an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy. From the materials we produce our books, toys, and games from, to the production methods and suppliers we choose, we aim to not only protect the planet, but improve it for future generations to come. We’ve been working hard to further develop our ECO toy ranges. Having recently partnered with Lancaster University’s Centre for Global Eco-Innovation Lancaster Environment Centre, PhD students undertook research on our eco toys to explore the strength and durability of sustainable materials from our collection, with the aim of demonstrating the viability of mass-producing high quality eco toys. This R&D assessment enabled us to understand the impact of making and using our toys and how they can fit into a circular economy. We believe our products can serve as an educational tool to illustrate the importance of sustainable communities, responsible consumption, and production. Following the exciting results of this research, our next steps as a sustainable children’s brand leader pursuing B Corp certification will be to conduct further studies into circular economy production and implementing this throughout the business. Founder Anita Frost was invited to speak as a sustainable brand leader at key events across the country this year. At Yorkshire Sustainability Week she was the keynote speaker, leading this year's international women's day theme of Equity, ‘Embrace Equity in Sustainability’. She also spoke on a panel at Insider’s SPARK Retail: Business Meets Innovation Breakfast, sharing her knowledge and expertise on building a sustainable brand from the ground up, discussing ethical retail, entrepreneurship, product development, investment and customer engagement. Anita was invited twice as a guest to speak on BBC Radio 5 Live’s breakfast show, Wake Up To Money, sharing her insights on the sustainability and UK businesses in an ever-changing economic landscape. New ECO Products Added to our Range We are excited to be adding to our ECO range of products, with new Garden and Outdoor products launched over the last year, giving families affordable yet sustainable children’s entertainment options. Our new Green Bean & Friends ECO Kite – an environmentally friendly children’s toy made with bamboo struts and packaged in a biodegradable bag made from cornstarch. This is the first of many toys we plan to bring our fans that are made from sustainable materials and can form part of a circular economy. As part of our Garden range, we introduced Beckett’s Bee Mix – a 100% eco-friendly Bee Seed Mix containing a specially selected mixture of annual flowers to support wildlife. As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, the seed mix packaging is biodegradable and vegan friendly. Green Bean Studios’ Bestsellers
