Dear Readers,

This has truly been an amazing year in so many ways, and I want to take this opportunity to reflect on 2018 and all the great things that have happened. I’d like to thank you for your engagement with what I’ve been doing as a business woman and author, and for your support, encouragement and contribution, whatever that looks like.

Curricula and Co, my training and mentoring business has continued to go from strength to strength. We’ve educated and invested into even more incredible business start-ups and entrepreneurs, and helped them to fulfil their potential, and to move in the right direction, as well as making strides with employability, and helping people to become more successful in the workplace, and to develop the skills they need to do well.
I never fail to be inspired by each person and business that comes through our programme - they all have something unique to offer the world, and it’s so rewarding to play a part in each person’s success.

People who have enrolled on the Entrepreneur Academy in previous years have continued to work with us, and to grow in success, as well as brand new students just starting out.

What’s been especially great this year in particular, is seeing a boom in the number of black women stepping out in business to enrol on our courses for the first time, in order to scale up their existing businesses and to start new ones. These incredible ladies are fantastic role models, and it’s great to see them flourishing personally and professionally.

It is my absolute pleasure to give a special shout out to three of these amazing businesses. These are definitely ones to watch in the coming year…

  • Cultureville is an African-inspired clothing company started by Adeola and Jane, two vibrant and passionate sisters from Nigeria. Growing up in the UK, there seemed to be a lack of clothing available in the bright patterns and colours found in their cultural background, that expressed their personalities. Out of this, Cultureville was born. To see their beautiful designs, head to their website, follow them on Insta, and read their blog. https://www.cultureville.co.uk/pages/about-us

  • Dinky Mix was created by mum of 4 Chi, who is British, but of Nigerian descent. She is passionate about design and illustration. Her wall art designs are aimed at little girls, and have a theme of celebrating cultural and racial heritage, empowering and uplifting in a playful and fun manner. She has an Etsy shop where she sells her prints. https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/DinkyMix

Writing and launching a brand new range of children’s books Green Bean Collection that promote healthy living has been so much fun! We’ve also produced a range of adorable plush toys and merchandise along with the range of books, which have proved to be really popular. We’ve held book launches, and produced great promotional content, and my personal highlight from all of this is hands down, travelling around the UK on a book signing tour.

On the tour, I travelled to Halifax, Liverpool, Newcastle, London, Cheshire, Manchester, Trafford, Birmingham, Leeds, and York. I was blown away by how welcoming and positive the Waterstones staff were, and seeing the children have loads of fun with the books and toys.

Lots of love,

Anita Frost xxx
