From January 31st 2024, new rules have come into effect for high net worth individuals (HNWI) and self-certified sophisticated investors. This will have a negative impact on the early-stage ecosystem, especially women and those from underrepresented groups. As an early-stage business that is seeing exceptional growth, Green Bean Studios celebrates the Innovate UK funding we received in March 2023 and funding from our silent investor. Despite these recent changes for HNWI, we have still been able to raise capital over the last 3 years. However, the new rules will inevitably present further barriers to start-up and small businesses developing and scaling under an economy that is already volatile and uncertain. We’re backing an open letter to the Chancellor from Startup Coalition, along with Alma Angels, Extend Ventures and The Entrepreneurs Network, to reverse the changes.
If you support this too, please consider reading the letter and adding your signature
