In just two short months, children’s IP entertainment brand Green Bean Studios have landed a total of £80k funding to push the brand into new heights. The business has been awarded £30k funding from the ‘DCMS Create Growth Fund: Competition 1’ from Innovate UK to support further development of their animated children’s TV series. This latest funding comes on the back of Green Bean Studios’ winning £50k funding from Innovate UK’s Inclusive Innovation Award 2023 back in June. The new pre school TV series in production aims to tackle the ecological crisis whilst supporting young children to advance and enjoy during their early years, through play, learning, and fun outdoor adventures. With this funding programme, Innovate UK will invest approximately £3 million in innovation projects across the UK. The funding is from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) Create Growth Programme for the six appointed regions in England, including Greater Manchester, home to Green Bean Studios’ headquarters. The aim of the funding is to provide high-growth creative businesses with targeted support to enable them to scale, develop investor networks, and reach their full potential. It is designed to allow creative businesses to explore new innovation projects as a stimulus for growth. About winning the DCMS funding, Green Bean Studios founder Anita Frost says: “Entertainment is such a powerful thing right now. We need the creative industry and creative individuals to come forward and drive the impact this world needs. As a creative, you have to really know what’s going on in the world. There should be a focus on shifting mental health. Take your own lens further out and understand how much impact you can deliver. This will outweigh the bad in the world.” The vision for a preschool animated children’s TV series based on Green Bean Studios’ much-loved Green Bean IP character has been long-held. Green Bean is a fictional character featured within the Green Bean Collection, a series of collectable children's books, toys. There is so much more in the pipeline for this little Green Bean and the talented, diverse team created by multi award-winning author Anita Frost. Green Bean is a household friend for children from birth, to preschool, to primary school age. The brand teaches learning through play, supporting social and emotional development, and promoting healthy and sustainable living. Green Bean lives in the beautiful lands of Adventure Dales with five unique friends who love learning and playing together through fun outdoor adventures. Green Bean Studios' mission is to be a globally leading sustainable children's entertainment brand, addressing key issues in society through Edtech, GreenTech, RetailTech, and Tech for Good. By scaling their tractional multi-revenue brand, the business aims to implement real, lasting change to tackle childhood obesity, children's declining mental health, the negative impacts of overusing technology, and the ongoing ecological crisis. Winning the DCMS funding is hugely exciting news for Green Bean Studios, bringing them one step closer to getting their animated TV series produced and on TV screens for families to learn, play, and share precious moments together. Key investment at this crucial time of growth within the business is set to accelerate Green Bean Studios’ development of inspiring families to play, learn, and go on fun adventures, while enjoying exciting children’s media entertainment.
