How Green Bean Studios is helping to #BeatPlasticPollution for World Environment Day
Plastic pollution is one of the greatest threats to the environment, contributing to Co2 emissions and harming wildlife and their habitats. With approximately 3 billion toys sold in the United States each year, and with 80% of toys ending up in landfills, incinerators, and even worse, the ocean, it's clear that toys are negatively affecting the environment. The main challenge in this industry is to develop toys that are biodegradable, non-toxic, and durable to reduce waste whilst ensuring toys are safe and long-lasting. The theme of World Environment Day 2023 is to #BeatPlasticPollution by reminding people globally that their actions on plastic pollution matter. The awareness day helps to encourage governments and businesses to tackle plastic pollution and accelerate the transition to a circular economy. Green Bean Studios is a brand that doesn’t just take from our planet – it gives back. Sustainability and protecting the environment are hugely important to us. Our toys, books, and games align with the Earth, and that comes through in the lessons we teach.
