Green Bean Studios founder Anita Frost will be speaking on a panel at the Black Owned Business Expo (BOB Expo) 2023 on the 29th of July at Manchester United. BOB Expo is the UK‘s largest retail expo and will host 100 Black owned businesses showcasing their products and services to over 1000 guests. Anita will be answering audience questions on a panel called Pitching for Investment from 2pm to 2:45pm, sharing her experience and knowledge about how to make the most of pitching opportunities as a Black business owner, and her tips for a winning pitch. The Green Bean Studios team is built on a foundation of inclusivity and diversity, with individuals from a wide range of ages, genders, ethnicities, disabilities, and socio-economic backgrounds. This has happened organically as we have drawn on the unique talents of people across the UK and beyond. Anita and the team regularly engage with local communities and businesses, supporting a diverse range of talent representing a broad variety of different nationalities, ethnicities, and cultures. Working at a local and regional level in this way, Green Bean Studios is proud to offer work opportunities to people from all walks of life to give them a platform for their talents to shine. On the importance of the BOB Expo and speaking at the event, Anita says: “Being a business leader during these uncertain times comes with many challenges. Being a Black, female founder brings a whole other level of obstacles to tackle when it comes to winning investment and driving business growth. “It is telling that in 2021, female entrepreneurs received only 1% of venture capital investment. At the end of April 2022, reports showed only 0.02% of UK venture capital funding went to Black female founders in a decade. “In the past ten years, only ten Black female founders received venture capital funding. Despite these odds, Black women are driving forward some of the UK's most exciting, innovative, and profitable new businesses.” BOB Expo brings together aspiring entrepreneurs, established business owners, professionals, and organisations including the event sponsors, Lloyds Bank and Salford Business School. The event will be an exciting opportunity for networking and learning from experts to help Black-owned businesses thrive. As well as retail opportunities, attendees will be able to connect with business owners and learn about their stories, passions, and missions. There will also be live entertainment, food vendors, and giveaways throughout the day.
The event is a fantastic chance to support Black-owned businesses and discover new products and services, whilst learning more helping your business grow and develop. Find out more and connect with Anita at the event:
