Anita Frost Talks Finances and Business on BBC’s Wake Up To Money Show

Green Bean Studios’ founder Anita Frost spoke as a guest on BBC Radio 5 Live’s breakfast show Wake Up To Money on Monday 21st October 2024. Anita was delighted to be welcomed back on the show for the second time this year, and now her fifth time on the show having been a guest three times in 2023.

Host Sean Farrington discussed the partnership between luxury brand Prada and NASA, plus the future of clothing company Boohoo as they are looking at major restructuring plans.

Anita enjoyed sharing the latest news from Green Bean Studios including being named winners of the KPMG Black Entrepreneurs Award, a programme which celebrates Black Heritage entrepreneurs in the UK and provides a platform to market their businesses to a wider audience.

Each year there are four winners who receive a cash prize of £25,000 each, and all of the finalists are enrolled onto a bespoke 12-month business acceleration programme, designed to support Black Heritage entrepreneurs and accelerate the growth of their start-ups.

Anita also discussed how the unsettled global economy has impacted business this year, bringing key wins in some areas of the business whilst other areas have proved significantly challenging.

Part of this has been down to manufacturing issues, with a desire to keep production processes based in the UK, yet not having access to the right skills and resources to make this cost-effective and sustainable long-term.

Anita spoke about how travel issues across the UK have also impacted productivity and presented further challenges to businesses due to adverse weather and strikes.

Sustainability and protecting the environment is at the forefront of Green Bean Studios’ business considerations. Anita shared how the business has invested into greener materials and processes for their retail ranges, with many children’s ECO toys and games now available for little fans. The business is committed to sustainability and aims to offer families eco-friendly yet affordable children’s entertainment options.

Despite being a challenging year in many ways, Anita shared the team’s passion and optimism in driving forward their core mission to help kids play, learn, and go on fun outdoor adventures.
